If you think cave diving is all about being a roughty toughty tech diver think again. The caverns and caves in Florida are so accessible that many local divers do their first cavern dive when they only have 10 dives under their belt! North Central Florida is a mecca for Cavern and Cave divers around the world. As well as beautiful cave systems with clear blue warm water there are dive shops to provide you with all the back up you need and both state and private parks manage the dive sites and provide simple facilities to make your diving easier and more comfortable.  

Cavern Divers wear a single cylinder and never venture beyond the light zone, Intro to Cave divers go further in but remain on the main line, Full Cave divers learn to jump from line to line to explore the cave systems whilst Advanced Cave Divers can specialise in the area of cave diving they most enjoy including DPV (scooters), Side-mount, Cave Survey, Multi-Stage and Trimix. Cave diving can be done either on open circuit scuba, SCR or CCR.

What's the attraction? Clear blue water, constant temperature (in the winter the water is warmer than the air), geological features like fossilised coral reefs and stalactites, huge variety of gobsmacking structures from massive cathedral like caverns to caves with strong current and helterskelter like passages to get your adrenaline pumping. No matter how far in you go curiousity always makes you ask "I wonder what's around the next corner?" Then you know you're hooked!
