Stoney Cove
Stoney Cove
is a flooded quarry with13 acres of sheltered spring water. Depths
ranges from 5 to 36 metres, with ledges at 12m
and 22m.Visibility can range from 1m to 20m. Attractions include:
plane cockpit, Bedford van, tug boat, 2 x Hydro box, a few
platforms, helicopter, submarine, and a number of other attractions. Water temperature ranges from 3°C - 18°C. Marine
life: Pike, perch and fresh water crayfish. Suitable for beginners
and experienced dives alike. A great place to go if your increasing
your dive experience, trying out new kit or want to keep up you skill level, however, it
can become extremely busy at the weekend.
Facilities Include: burger bar, toilets, shop, showers and changing
rooms.
Entrance fee is £15
Vobster
Quay is a limestone quarry which has 35 acres of water. Depth ranges
from 6m – 36m with a large 12m and 22m area. Visibility can range
from a couple of meters to 20m. Attractions include: a plane in
three sections, a boat, the bridge of a ship, a couple of cars, a
number of platforms from 6m – 36m and the remains of the working
quarry. Water temperature ranges from 2°C
- 16°C.
Marine life: brown trout. Suitable for beginners and experienced
divers alike. An excellent location for new divers to gain
experience and experienced divers to keep their
skills fresh. Facilities include: a shop, burger van, toilets,
showers and changing room. Entrance fee is £15
Wraysbury
is an old gravel pit that has been flooded, with a shallow depth and
a number of platforms. Max depth is 16m with the majority
being 8m or less. Visibility can be a bit limited up to around 4m.
Attractions include: a number of platforms, a bus, a van, 2 larger
boats, and a taxi. Water temperature ranges from 2°C -
21°C.
Marine life:
common carp,
perch, tench and pike. Suitable for all skill levels.
A Local dive site ideal for testing out new kit and keeping skills
fresh. Facilities Include: a shop, burger van, chemical toilets,
changing rooms. Entrance fee is £6
Chesil Beach
Chesil
beach is an 18mile stretch of pebbles and shingle. Depth range is up
to 18m. Visibility can reach up to 15m. Water temperature
ranges from 4°C - 18°C. Marine life: cuttlefish, dog
fish. wrasse, lobster, crabs, pipefish.
Chesil offers a spectacular underwater trail of plant and fish life
to depths not exceeding 18m. The sheltered part of the beach is
reserved specifically for diving and offers both novice and expert
divers a great dive.
